Frequency

We’re not on the same frequency,
We’re different thinkers, you and me.
We don’t share one mentality,
And this could be divisive.

Can we discuss unbound and free,
Without a fuss through egg shell seas?
I sit and zip my mouth, so we
Are family, without fighting.

Our politics, they do not match.
I hope our bonds can stay in tact,
As we scrapple over facts
That neither one will move on.

I think what I think, no apology.
For some reason, I’m desperate for you to see
That really, you should agree with me.
But your frequency, I can’t prove wrong.

Do you even hear my frequency?
I can hear yours, but it’s just white noise.
